VA Partners Leads ASEAN Peer Review of Thailand’s Competition Policy Advocacy Framework

On 3 November 2025, VA Partners, serving as the appointed external consultant to the ASEAN Secretariat, presented its comprehensive evaluation of Thailand’s competition policy advocacy framework at the Peer Review Plenary Meeting.

As part of the Technical Assistance to Strengthen Competition Law Enforcement in ASEAN – Phase III project, this session marked a critical milestone in assessing the Trade and Competition Commission of Thailand (TCCT). The review was led by Dr. Peerapat Chokesuwattanaskul, Senior Partner, and Praewa Jittimanee, Senior Associate, who delivered strategic findings and recommendations to the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition (AEGC) and representatives from ASEAN Member States.

Key Highlights:

  • Strategic Validation: The plenary validated Thailand’s progress in establishing a transparent advocacy framework while identifying key areas for institutional strengthening.

  • Regional Impact: VA Partners’ recommendations were formally adopted to inform the AEGC’s ongoing work and the implementation of the ASEAN Competition Action Plan 2025 (ACAP 2025).

  • Inclusive Dialogue: Organised by the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD), the hybrid session fostered high-level knowledge sharing across the region.

VA Partners is honoured to drive this initiative, applying our combined legal and economic expertise to foster fair, resilient, and competitive economies across Southeast Asia.
