Exploring AI’s Implications for Thai Law at the National AI Summit 2025
On September 10, 2025, our Senior Partner, Dr. Peerapat Chokesuwattanaskul, was invited to speak on “AI and the Thai Legal Framework” at the Thailand National AI Summit 2025. The event, organised by The Royal Society, was aligned with the nation’s strategy to enhance AI readiness and marked the Society’s 100th Anniversary.
The summit convened policymakers, business leaders, academics, the private sector, and civil society to collectively address key issues of AI readiness. Its objective was to develop strategies and policy recommendations that will strengthen Thailand’s capacity to adapt and thrive amidst rapid technological transformation, ensuring the country’s sustainable competitiveness and resilience in the global arena.
In his session, Dr. Peerapat explored the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and Thai law, examining how AI is increasingly influencing the principles of justice within the legal system. He emphasised that while AI applications offer significant potential benefits, they also carry risks if deployed without adequate ethical and good governance safeguards. Dr. Peerapat underscored the importance of integrating AI into Thailand’s legal and justice systems in a way that upholds fairness and stressed the need for legal mechanisms that ensure technological progress remains balanced with fundamental legal and ethical values.
We extend our sincere gratitude to The Royal Society for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful forum. It was a privilege to share perspectives on AI and its implications for Thailand’s legal framework, and we remain committed to applying our expertise in support of the nation’s efforts to foster responsible and sustainable technological advancement.
